A comforting pasta dish smothered in a rich, creamy sauce featuring tender beef, perfect for busy weeknights or entertaining.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
- Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks until browned and fully cooked. Season with salt and pepper.
- Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream, allowing it to simmer gently.
- Gradually add the shredded cheese, stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet, mixing thoroughly to coat in the sauce.
- Plate the dish hot, garnished with Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute half of the heavy cream with low-fat milk. Feel free to experiment with different cheese blends and seasonal vegetables.
