- 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 pound cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- Red pepper flakes, to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prep the Ingredients: Wash green beans and trim the ends. Slice the mushrooms and mince the garlic.
- Blanch the Green Beans: Boil salted water and cook green beans for 2-4 minutes. Drain and plunge into an ice bath.
- Sauté the Mushrooms: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet and cook mushrooms until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper, adding red pepper flakes if desired.
- Sauté the Garlic and Green Beans: In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and sauté garlic until fragrant. Add blanched green beans and heat through.
- Combine and Serve: Add sautéed mushrooms to the skillet with soy sauce and toss. Stir in butter until melted. Garnish with parsley or chives before serving.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for better flavor and texture. Adjust seasoning to taste and don’t skip the ice bath for crisp green beans.
