Description
A delightful twist on traditional apple dishes, these crispy air fryer apple fries are perfect for snacks, desserts, or breakfasts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or your favorite variety)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- Cooking spray
- For the Dipping Sauce (optional):
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (optional for a lighter option)
Instructions
- Prepare the apples: Peel if desired, slice into 1/2 inch wedges, and remove cores and seeds. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
- Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs. Mix half of the cinnamon-sugar with breadcrumbs.
- Coat apple slices in flour, dip in egg, and press into breadcrumbs until coated.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes. Lay apple slices in a single layer, spray with cooking oil, and air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture and serve warm with caramel sauce or yogurt for dipping.
Notes
For best results, use firm apples and ensure not to overcrowd the air fryer. Experiment with spices and breading variations.
