Description
Sweet, crunchy, and golden on the outside with tender apple inside, these Crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries are the perfect quick snack or dessert without the need for deep frying.
Ingredients
3 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed graham crackers
1 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tbsp granulated sugar (optional)
2 large eggs, beaten
Cooking spray
Instructions
1. Wash and dry apples. Peel if desired and cut into fry-shaped sticks about ½-inch thick.
2. Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour or cornstarch, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs, cinnamon, and sugar.
3. Lightly coat each apple slice in flour, dip in egg, and roll in crumb mixture, pressing gently to help it stick.
4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes. Lightly spray basket with cooking spray.
5. Arrange coated slices in a single layer and air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
6. Serve hot with caramel sauce, yogurt dip, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, replace breadcrumbs with almond flour or crushed gluten-free crackers.
Tart apples give a nice contrast to the sweet coating, but any firm apple works well.
These are best served fresh for maximum crunch.
