Description

This Garlic Parmesan Focaccia Bread combines a crispy exterior with a soft, flavorful interior, bursting with savory goodness from garlic and nutty richness from Parmesan.


Ingredients

  • 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1¾ cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil (plus more for greasing and drizzling)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme (optional, for garnish)
  • Flaky sea salt for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Proof the yeast by combining warm water and sugar, sprinkle yeast over it, and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in flour, kosher salt, and olive oil to form a sticky dough. Cover and let rise for 1 to 1½ hours.
  3. Prepare toppings: mince garlic, grate Parmesan, and chop fresh herbs. Grease a baking pan with olive oil, then transfer and stretch the dough to fill.
  4. Dimple the dough and add toppings: press indentations into the dough, sprinkle minced garlic, grated Parmesan, herbs, and flaky sea salt.
  5. Let rise for another 20-30 minutes. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden. Cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
