Description

Delicious and satisfying fried mushrooms with a crispy coating, perfect for snacking or as a side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned salt
  • Vegetable or canola oil (for frying)
  • Optional: 2 eggs (for thicker breading)

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat or a deep fryer until it reaches about 375°F.
  2. Prepare the dredging station by mixing the flour and seasoned salt in a bowl. If using, beat the eggs in a separate bowl.
  3. Coat each mushroom slice by dipping it in the egg mixture and then dredging it in the seasoned flour.
  4. Carefully place the coated mushrooms into the hot oil and fry for about 5 minutes until golden brown, turning occasionally.
  5. Remove the mushrooms and let them drain on a plate lined with paper towels.

Notes

Let fried mushrooms cool on paper towels to maintain crispiness. Experiment with different seasonings for added flavor.
