Ingredients

- 1 block firm tofu
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter or vegan butter
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- Chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture and cut into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, combine minced garlic, soy sauce, melted butter, maple syrup, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
- Toss tofu cubes in the marinade and let sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle cornstarch over the marinated tofu and toss until coated.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat and fry tofu bites for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Remove from pan and drain on paper towels; garnish with chopped green onions.
- Serve warm for best texture and flavor.
Notes
