Description

Delightful Chicago-style apple slices with sweet, juicy apples and a flaky, buttery crust – perfect for autumn gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups sliced apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 pre-made pie crusts
  • 1/2 cup vanilla glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and lay it flat into a greased baking dish.
  4. Layer the apple mixture on top of the first crust.
  5. Place the second pie crust over the apples and seal the edges.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top crust is golden brown and apples are bubbling.
  7. Let it cool slightly and drizzle with vanilla glaze before serving.

Notes

For best results, use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. Ensure the crust edges are sealed correctly to avoid leakage during baking.
