Description

Hobo Casserole is the ultimate comfort food with layers of tender potatoes, savory ground beef, and melted cheese, all bound together by creamy mushroom soup.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 45 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: onions, bell peppers, or any other desired vegetables

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
  4. Add a layer of the cooked ground beef over the potatoes.
  5. Spread the cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer evenly.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Add another layer of sliced potatoes if desired, followed by the remaining ground beef and finish with the last of the soup.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  9. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for about 45-50 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
