Description

Delightful lemon brownies, or lemonies, offer a perfect blend of sweet and tangy flavors with a chewy, soft texture—ideal for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup Fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons Milk (for glaze)
  • Additional lemon zest (for glaze) to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and mix in the sugar until combined.
  3. Add in the eggs, lemon zest, and lemon juice, mixing until smooth.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk and zest until smooth.
  8. Once the brownies are cool, drizzle the glaze over the top.
  9. Allow to set, cut into squares, and enjoy!

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh lemons instead of bottled juice.
