- 2 pounds beef roast (chuck or brisket)
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- French rolls or hoagie buns
- Optional: Swiss cheese, for topping
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, place the beef roast, sliced onion, and minced garlic.
- Pour in the beef broth and add Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
- Once cooked, remove the beef and shred it with two forks.
- Strain the broth, if desired, for a clearer jus.
- Serve the shredded beef on French rolls, topped with optional Swiss cheese, and dip in the reserved jus.
Notes
Use a good quality beef roast for the best flavor. Let the beef rest for a few minutes before shredding to keep it juicy.
