Description

A cozy and hearty dish combining rich French onion soup flavors with savory ground beef and fluffy rice, topped with creamy, melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil (for cooking)
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef and onions with rice, French onion soup, and beef broth. Mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Ensure to drain any excess fat from the beef for a better texture. Feel free to customize with different types of cheese or rice.
