Description

Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets (fresh or frozen, thawed)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat tilapia fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the fillets in a single layer on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, parsley, paprika, and Parmesan cheese. Let simmer briefly.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  8. Pour the garlic butter sauce over the tilapia fillets.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until tilapia flakes easily with a fork.
  10. Garnish with chopped parsley and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.

Notes

For best results, do not overcook the tilapia and use fresh ingredients when possible.
