- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth or water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Melt the butter over medium heat in a medium saucepan and sauté the minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until golden and fragrant.
- Add the rinsed rice to the garlic butter and stir for 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth (or water) and add salt and pepper; stir to combine and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork, garnish with parsley, and serve.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth. You can also use olive oil instead of butter.
