Description
A delightful dish combining crisp green beans with earthy mushrooms in a rich garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Begin by preparing your green beans. Trim the ends off and rinse them thoroughly under cold water.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
- Toss in the mushrooms and cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the green beans to the skillet, sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste, and stir to combine.
- Cover the skillet and let the green beans cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until tender but crisp.
- Remove the lid, add the remaining tablespoon of butter, and then add the lemon juice, stirring well to combine.
- Transfer the green beans and mushrooms to a serving dish and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
Notes
Avoid overcooking the green beans to keep them bright green and slightly crispy. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
