Description
A delicious and hearty meal featuring juicy steak and savory mushrooms in a rich garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
- 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Fresh parsley or thyme for garnish
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: Chop the garlic, slice the mushrooms, and season the steak with salt and pepper.
- Heat the skillet: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
- Sear the steak: Place the steak in the skillet and sear for 3-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and let it rest.
- Cook the mushrooms and garlic: Add the mushrooms and garlic to the skillet, cooking until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add broth and lemon juice: Pour in the beef broth and lemon juice, scraping up brown bits from the pan.
- Finish with butter: Stir in the butter until melted, then return the steak to the skillet for another 2-3 minutes.
- Serve and garnish: Serve immediately, garnished with fresh herbs for flavor.
Notes
For best results, choose a well-marbled steak and always let it rest after cooking.
