Indulge in the rich flavors of steak combined with cheesy tortellini and a velvety garlic sauce for a comforting dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 ounces cheese tortellini
  • 1 pound steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add cheese tortellini, and cook according to package directions (3-5 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. Pat the steak dry and season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side, then let it rest before slicing.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium, add butter, and once melted, stir in minced garlic for 30 seconds.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and milk, whisking until smooth.
  6. Add parmesan cheese and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Toss in the cooked tortellini and sliced steak, ensuring everything is coated.
  8. Garnish with parsley, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper before serving.
