Description

Delicious beef rolls filled with bacon, onion, and pickles, simmered in a rich broth for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of beef flank steak
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 pickles, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Lay out the beef slices and spread mustard evenly on each.
  2. Place a slice of bacon, some onion slices, and pickle slices on each beef slice.
  3. Roll up the beef tightly and secure with toothpicks or kitchen twine.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Sear the beef rolls on all sides until browned.
  6. Remove the rolls and set aside.
  7. In the same skillet, add beef broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom.
  8. Return the beef rolls to the skillet, cover, and simmer for about 90 to 120 minutes until tender.
  9. Remove rolls, discard toothpicks, and serve with sauce over the top.

Notes

Use a meat mallet to pound the beef slices for tenderizing. Ensure beef rolls are secured to prevent spilling. Let rolls rest before slicing.
