Description

A showstopper dish featuring creamy brie enveloped in flaky puff pastry, topped with sweet caramelized apples and aromatic thyme.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 2 cups Red Apple, diced
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped Fresh Thyme
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 round Brie
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry
  • 1 egg Egg Wash
  • 0.25 cup Chopped Walnuts
  • to taste Flaky Salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, honey, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cook for about 10-15 minutes until the apples are soft and golden.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and place the brie in the center. Spoon the caramelized apple mixture on top of the brie.
  3. Fold the pastry over the cheese, sealing it tightly, and brush the top with egg wash for a golden finish. Score the top lightly to allow steam to escape.
  4. Place the wrapped brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and flaky.
  5. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped walnuts and fresh thyme, and finish with a sprinkle of flaky salt before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or vegetables. Pairs well with white wine.
