Description
A showstopper dish featuring creamy brie enveloped in flaky puff pastry, topped with sweet caramelized apples and aromatic thyme.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 2 cups Red Apple, diced
- 1 tablespoon Chopped Fresh Thyme
- 1 tablespoon Honey
- 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 0.5 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 0.25 teaspoon Nutmeg
- 0.25 teaspoon Kosher Salt
- 1 round Brie
- 1 sheet Puff Pastry
- 1 egg Egg Wash
- 0.25 cup Chopped Walnuts
- to taste Flaky Salt
Instructions
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, honey, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cook for about 10-15 minutes until the apples are soft and golden.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and place the brie in the center. Spoon the caramelized apple mixture on top of the brie.
- Fold the pastry over the cheese, sealing it tightly, and brush the top with egg wash for a golden finish. Score the top lightly to allow steam to escape.
- Place the wrapped brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and flaky.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped walnuts and fresh thyme, and finish with a sprinkle of flaky salt before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or vegetables. Pairs well with white wine.
