Description

A delightful dish that balances savory and sweet flavors with tender ground beef coated in hot honey sauce, served over rice and garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1/4 cup hot honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent (3-4 minutes).
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it into small pieces while cooking for 6-8 minutes until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Stir in the hot honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt, mixing well and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the cooked rice to the skillet, stirring to coat completely, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat, serve in bowls, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For a leaner option, use 80/20 ground beef. Adjust the hot honey based on your spice preference. Leftovers store well in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge or up to 3 months in the freezer.
