Description

A flavorful dish inspired by Hawaiian cuisine, featuring shrimp sautéed in a savory garlic and pineapple sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Start by measuring all your ingredients. Mince the garlic and chop the cilantro.
  2. Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet, heat olive oil with 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat.
  3. Sauté Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, watching closely to avoid burning.
  4. Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp in a single layer, seasoning them with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  5. Add the Flavor: Pour in pineapple juice, soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, ground ginger, lime juice, and remaining butter. Stir and let simmer for another minute.
  6. Finish and Serve: Remove from heat and stir in chopped cilantro. Serve hot.

Notes

Opt for fresh or high-quality frozen shrimp. Adjust sweetness to taste and consider adding red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
