- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until meat is browned. Add marinara sauce, mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, chopped basil, salt, and pepper.
- Layer in a baking dish: start with meat sauce, followed by noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with meat sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let sit for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for better flavor and don’t skip the resting time to help with serving.
