Description

A comforting baked lasagna with layers of pasta, rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella that delights at any meal.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until meat is browned. Add marinara sauce, mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, chopped basil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Layer in a baking dish: start with meat sauce, followed by noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with meat sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Let sit for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for better flavor and don’t skip the resting time to help with serving.
