Description
A flavorful and protein-packed steak fajita bowl with marinated steak, sautéed veggies, and creamy avocado.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or flank)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 onion (sliced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Avocado for topping
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together olive oil, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add the steak and ensure it’s coated evenly. Cover and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Place the marinated steak in the skillet and cook for about 6-8 minutes for medium-rare, flipping once. Remove and let it rest before slicing against the grain.
- In the same skillet, add sliced bell pepper and onion. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender and slightly charred.
- Assemble the bowl by layering slices of steak, sautéed peppers and onions, and avocado. Serve with lime wedges.
Notes
For variations, consider using skirt steak, adding other vegetables, or substituting with tofu for a vegan version.
