Description

A hearty combination of ground beef, tender potatoes, and melted cheese, this Hobo Casserole offers a satisfying meal that’s both filling and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 45 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup beef broth or water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until soft (3-4 minutes).
  4. Spread the cooked beef mixture in the baking dish. Layer thinly sliced potatoes on top, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheeses generously over the potatoes, then pour beef broth around the edges.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.

Notes

Let it sit for 5-10 minutes after baking for easier serving. Customize with your favorite vegetables or cheese.
