Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk (warmed)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the warmed milk and melted butter; mix in the eggs until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rest in a greased bowl covered with plastic wrap for about an hour until it doubles in size.
- Meanwhile, mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Roll out the rested dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick; spread melted butter evenly over it.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top, then roll tightly from one edge to another.
- Cut into 12 equal pieces using dental floss or a sharp knife; place cut-side up in a greased baking pan.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- For the frosting, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, milk, and softened butter until creamy; drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for a softer dough. Don’t rush the dough rising for fluffy rolls.
