Description
Crunchy and flavorful homemade egg rolls filled with fresh vegetables and optional meat, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- Egg roll wrappers
- Cabbage, finely chopped
- Carrots, grated or finely chopped
- Optional: ground meat (pork, chicken, or beef)
- Soy sauce
- Garlic, minced
- Ginger, minced
- Salt
- Pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and add minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about a minute until fragrant.
- Stir in chopped cabbage and grated carrots (add ground meat if desired). Stir-fry until veggies are tender, seasoning with soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Allow the filling to cool slightly to prevent sogginess in the wrappers.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper flat. Spoon filling into the center, fold the bottom corner over, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly to seal.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the rolls until golden brown, or bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve hot with dipping sauce such as soy sauce or sweet chili sauce.
Notes
Don’t overfill the rolls and seal edges properly to prevent leaking. Fry in batches to maintain oil temperature.
