Description

Delightful homemade peppermint patties with a cool minty filling and rich dark chocolate coating, perfect for sharing during the holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons peppermint extract
  • â…› teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 cups dark melting/dipping chocolate

Instructions

  1. Mix the Base: Begin by placing the sweetened condensed milk, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract into a stand mixer. Blend until fully incorporated.
  2. Create the Dough: Gradually add half of the powdered sugar to the mixture and mix until a dough begins to form.
  3. Roll and Cut: Dust your work surface with powdered sugar, knead the dough lightly, and roll it out into a ½-inch thick circle. Cut out circles with a cookie cutter.
  4. Freeze the Patties: Set the circles on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for about 15 minutes.
  5. Dip in Chocolate: Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, let it cool slightly, then dip each frozen patty into the chocolate.
  6. Chill Again: Return the coated patties to the parchment-lined sheet and refrigerate for around 20 minutes or until the chocolate sets.

Notes

Use quality dark chocolate and don’t skip the freezing step for best results.
