Description

A delightful twist on classic mashed potatoes, featuring sweet and savory flavors enhanced by honey and butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the cubed sweet potatoes.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 15-20 minutes, until tender.
  3. Drain the sweet potatoes and transfer back to the pot.
  4. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat and stir in honey until combined; remove from heat.
  5. Mash the sweet potatoes until smooth.
  6. Gradually mix in the milk and the butter-honey mixture, along with salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and black pepper. Continue mashing until creamy.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  8. Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with butter or honey if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Experiment with flavors by adding roasted garlic, or for a vegan option, use coconut oil and maple syrup instead of butter and honey.
