Description

Indulge in soft and fluffy Maple Donut Bars, kissed by the essence of pure maple syrup, ideal for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 5/8 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • A pinch of salt (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, salt, and sugar.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, maple syrup, buttermilk, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 28-32 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool on a wire rack.
  7. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  8. Pour the glaze over cooled bars and allow to set for 15-20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Store bars in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature, or refrigerate for a week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
