- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 5/8 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
- A pinch of salt (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, salt, and sugar.
- In a large bowl, whisk eggs, maple syrup, buttermilk, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 28-32 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool on a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the glaze over cooled bars and allow to set for 15-20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Store bars in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature, or refrigerate for a week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
