Description

These delightful Salted Caramel Apple Bars combine cinnamon-spiced apples with rich salted caramel, creating a satisfying treat perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, softened butter, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until crumbly.
  3. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Toss the chopped apples with the remaining sugar and cinnamon, and spread evenly over the crust.
  5. Drizzle salted caramel sauce over the apples.
  6. Crumble the remaining mixture on top of the apples and caramel.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

Choose firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best results. Allow bars to cool for easier cutting.
