Description

A delightful dessert combining fresh berries, zesty lemon curd, and whipped cream in a layered presentation, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 2 cups sponge cake or pound cake cubes (fresh or store-bought)
  • 1 cup lemon curd
  • 1.5 cups whipped cream (sweetened)
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by placing a generous layer of sponge or pound cake cubes into the bottom of a trifle dish.
  2. Spoon half the lemon curd over the cake layer, spreading it evenly.
  3. Scatter a layer of mixed berries on top of the curd.
  4. Spread a generous layer of whipped cream over the berries.
  5. Repeat the layers in the same order until the dish is full.
  6. Sprinkle lemon zest on top for flavor and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a unique twist, consider adding a splash of limoncello to the lemon curd, or use gluten-free cake for dietary preferences.
