Description

Delightful cookies blending maple syrup and brown sugar for a soft, chewy texture with a crisp edge.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and dark brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Beat until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Scoop dough rounds onto the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  7. Flatten the dough rounds slightly with the back of a spoon.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature butter and avoid overmixing the dough.
