- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter and dark brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Beat until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Scoop dough rounds onto the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Flatten the dough rounds slightly with the back of a spoon.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature butter and avoid overmixing the dough.
