Description

Maryland Crab Cakes are a delightful seafood dish featuring tender, flaky crab meat contrasted by a crispy exterior, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, egg, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt, pepper, and Old Bay seasoning. Gently fold to blend without breaking the crab meat too much.
  2. Form the mixture into patties, about 3 inches in diameter.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the crab cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  5. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

Use fresh crab meat for the best flavor. Chill the patties before cooking to help them hold together.
