Description

Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside these Mashed Potato Cheese Puffs are the ultimate cheesy snack, perfect for parties or easy weeknight sides.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups cold mashed potatoes

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 egg

1 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tbsp chopped chives

1/4 cup all purpose flour (optional, for binding)

1 cup breadcrumbs (for coating)

Instructions

1. Mix mashed potatoes, cheeses, egg, garlic powder, chives, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.

2. If the mixture is too soft, stir in flour to bind.

3. Scoop and roll into small balls (golf ball size).

4. Coat each ball in breadcrumbs. For a crispier crust, dip in egg first and re roll in crumbs.

5. Preheat oven to 400°F (or air fryer to 375°F).

6. Place puffs on a baking sheet (or in air fryer basket) and bake for 20 25 mins or air fry for 10–12 mins until golden brown.

7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Use cold mashed potatoes for best results.

Try adding bacon bits, jalapeños, or herbs for variations.

Double coat in breadcrumbs for extra crunch.

Great to freeze before or after cooking.
