Description

Delicious Korean marinated soft-boiled eggs with a sweet and savory flavor, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • Vinegar (optional for boiling eggs)
  • ¼ medium yellow onion, finely chopped (about â…“ cup)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 stalk green onion, sliced
  • 1 chili pepper, finely chopped or sliced (optional for spice)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 10 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce (½ cup + 2 tablespoons)
  • 5 tablespoons honey (rice syrup or corn syrup can also be used)
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Gently lower the eggs into the boiling water and cook for about 6 minutes for soft-boiled eggs.
  2. Remove the eggs and transfer to an ice water bath to stop the cooking process.
  3. In a bowl, combine onion, garlic, green onion, chili pepper, sesame seeds, soy sauce, honey, and water. Stir until well combined.
  4. Peel the cooled eggs carefully.
  5. Place peeled eggs in an airtight container and pour the marinade over them. Ensure they are submerged and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
  6. Serve with rice, sesame oil, and a splash of the marinade.

Notes

These eggs can be stored in the fridge for up to a week. For best flavor, consume within the first three days.
