Description

These Mini Chili Football Bread Bowls are fun, delicious, and perfect for game day or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups chili (prepared)
  • Shredded cheese (for topping)
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water, and let it sit until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt together.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour; mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Punch down the risen dough, then shape it into small bowls (cut them in half if needed).
  8. Place the bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  9. Once baked, remove the tops, fill them with chili, and top with cheese and green onions.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure your water is warm, not hot, to properly activate the yeast. If using store-bought chili, it works well too. Let the bread cool slightly before serving to help keep the filling in.
