Description

A delightful one-pot meal featuring smoky sausage, creamy orzo, aromatic garlic, and rich butter. Perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the sliced sausage for 3–4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the orzo and stir to coat it in the garlic butter. Toast for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth, bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and cook for about 10 minutes until the orzo is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed.
  5. Return the sausage to the pan and stir, cooking for an additional 2–3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Sprinkle with parsley, season with salt and pepper, and serve hot.

Notes

Pair with a crisp salad or crusty bread. For a lighter option, substitute with chicken or turkey sausage. To add more nutrition, consider mixing in vegetables like spinach or bell peppers.
