Description

A delightful blend of sweet and spicy flavors in a comforting pasta dish, easy to prepare and clean up.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rotini preferred)
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced (kielbasa or andouille)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Grated Parmesan or cheddar cheese
  • Extra red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. In a large non-stick skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced sausage and cook for about 3–4 minutes per side until caramelized. Remove sausage from skillet and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, mix honey, BBQ sauce, hot sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Stir well and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add chicken broth and uncooked pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and let simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once pasta is cooked, return sausage to skillet and pour in the prepared sauce. Stir to coat evenly and let simmer uncovered for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Adjust seasoning if needed, then serve topped with fresh parsley, grated cheese, or red pepper flakes. Enjoy!
