Description

A comforting and flavorful pasta dish made with tender penne, sweet peas, and crispy bacon, finished with a creamy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ pound penne pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon, cut into small pieces
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package directions, adding frozen peas halfway through.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onions and bacon, cooking until crispy and translucent.
  3. Drain the pasta and peas and add them to the skillet. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream. Adjust the cream according to your preference for creaminess.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately, garnished with grated cheese if desired.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or plant-based cream. For added flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan when serving.
