Description

A delightful apple cobbler featuring tender baked apples with a lightly spiced golden crust, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Then stir in melted butter, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into a greased baking dish and drop spoonfuls of the batter over the top.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and set.
  6. Cool slightly before serving warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Use a combination of tart and sweet apples for best flavor. Brush the top with melted butter before baking for a golden crust.
