Description

A delightful dessert featuring juicy peaches and a soft, buttery topping that perfectly captures the essence of summer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups canned peaches, drained slightly
  • 1/2 cup peach syrup (from can)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir in melted butter and milk until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  4. Spoon the canned peaches over the batter, then pour the peach syrup on top without mixing.
  5. Bake for about 45 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving, preferably warm with a scoop of ice cream.

Notes

For best flavor, use ripe peaches; fresh peaches can be substituted. This dessert is best served warm.
