A comforting and flavorful curry featuring tender potatoes and sweet peas in a spiced sauce.
Ingredients

- 3 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup water
- Fresh cilantro leaves, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat and allow the cumin and mustard seeds to splutter.
- Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.
- Mix in turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder, and salt.
- Toss in the cubed potatoes, stirring well to coat.
- Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Add the green peas and cook for an additional 5 minutes until cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with rice or bread.
Notes
Use fresh spices for better flavor and consider adding a splash of coconut milk for richness.
