Description

A delightful blend of ripe peaches and tangy lemons, perfect for summer gatherings or hot days.


Ingredients

  • Ripe large peaches: 6-8 (about 3 pounds)
  • Granulated sugar (for peach puree): 1/2 cup
  • Water (for peach puree): 1/2 cup
  • Fresh lemon juice (for peach puree): 1 tablespoon
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice: 1 1/2 cups (from 8-10 medium lemons)
  • Granulated sugar (for simple syrup): 1 cup
  • Water (for simple syrup): 1 cup
  • Cold water (for dilution): 4-6 cups
  • Fresh peach slices for garnish: As needed
  • Lemon wheels or wedges for garnish: As needed
  • Fresh mint sprigs for garnish: As needed
  • Ice cubes: As needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare Peaches & Peach Syrup: Start by washing, pitting, and dicing your peaches. In a medium saucepan, mix the diced peaches with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of water, and 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. Allow this mixture to simmer over medium-low heat for about 10-15 minutes, until the peaches are very soft.
  2. Make & Cool Peach Puree: Remove the saucepan from heat and mash the peaches thoroughly. Strain the mixture using a fine-mesh sieve to get a smooth peach puree. Let the puree cool completely, which may take around 15-20 minutes.
  3. Prepare Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat the mixture over medium heat while stirring until the sugar fully dissolves. Cool the syrup once done.
  4. Prepare Lemonade Base: Juice 8-10 medium lemons to yield 1 1/2 cups of juice. Strain the juice to remove any seeds or excess pulp. In a large pitcher, mix the cooled simple syrup with the strained lemon juice.
  5. Assemble Lemonade: Add the chilled peach puree into the pitcher with the lemonade base. Stir in 4 cups of cold water, adjusting the amount up to 6 cups based on your taste preference for sweetness and strength.
  6. Chill & Serve: Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. Serve over ice, and garnish with fresh peach slices, lemon wheels, and mint sprigs for a beautiful presentation.
