- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 pound farfalle (bowtie) pasta
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Red pepper flakes, optional
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear each side for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the butter. Once it’s melted, throw in the sun-dried tomatoes and sauté for about 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stir well, and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Meanwhile, cook the farfalle pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Slice the cooked chicken into strips and add it back to the skillet with the sauce. Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until well coated in the creamy sauce.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves and optional red pepper flakes, then serve immediately.
Notes
Consider using fresh garlic for enhanced flavor. Adjust seasoning according to taste.
