- Coconut flakes
- Royal icing
Instructions
- Prepare the macaron shells by combining almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
- Whip egg whites until foamy, gradually adding granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Add red food coloring and gently fold in the dry mixture until combined.
- Pipe the mixture into circles on a lined baking sheet.
- Let rest until a skin forms, then bake in a preheated oven.
- Make buttercream by creaming butter and mixing in powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Once shells are cool, spread buttercream on one shell and sandwich with another.
- Decorate with royal icing to create Santa’s belt and buckle.
- Roll the edges in coconut flakes to finish.
