Description
A delicious and hearty sandwich featuring juicy beef patties, sautéed mushrooms, and melted Swiss cheese on crispy bread.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- 4 ounces Swiss cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 slices sourdough or rye bread
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons mayo or garlic aioli
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into patties slightly wider than the bread.
- Heat the skillet on medium-high and cook patties for about 5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
- Spread mayo or garlic aioli on bread slices. On two slices, layer Swiss cheese, cooked beef patties, and sautéed mushrooms. Top with another slice of cheese and bread.
- Grill the sandwiches in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Notes
For best results, use 80/20 ground beef for flavor and juiciness. Don’t rush the mushrooms to enhance flavor.
