Description
A delightful dish blending traditional Irish flavors with tender sirloin steaks marinated in Irish whiskey, creamy colcannon, and luxurious whiskey cream sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pieces Sirloin Steak
- 1/4 cup Irish Whiskey (Jameson)
- 4 tablespoons Butter
- 1 pound Potatoes
- 1 cup Kale
- 1 cup Cream
- 1/2 cup Shallots
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the whiskey and a tablespoon of butter. Marinate the sirloin steaks for at least 30 minutes.
- Peel and chop the potatoes into even pieces. Boil them in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.
- In a separate pan, sauté shallots and kale in butter until softened. Combine with the drained potatoes and mash together. Add cream to make it smooth and creamy.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steaks and cook for about 4-6 minutes per side or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and a splash of whiskey. Scrape up any bits from the bottom of the pan, then stir in the cream. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Slice the steaks and place them over a scoop of colcannon. Drizzle with whiskey cream sauce and enjoy!
Notes
Choose well-marbled steak for best results. Adjust cream thickness to your preference.
