Description

A low-carb delight that brings all the juicy, savory goodness of a burger into a convenient bowl format.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (Lean beef for a healthier option)
  • 3 medium Red Potatoes (Can substitute with brown rice)
  • 1 cup Onions (Caramelized for added depth)
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese (Colby Jack or pepper jack recommended)
  • 1/2 cup Mayo (Adjust for desired creaminess)
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup (Use low-sugar for a healthier option)
  • 1 tbsp Mustard (Dijon is a great choice)
  • 1 tbsp Cajun Seasoning (Adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup Pickles (Adds crunch)
  • 1 cup Lettuce (Any leafy greens work)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Potatoes: Wash and dice the red potatoes into small cubes. Boil them in salted water for about 10–15 minutes, or until fork-tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, add ground beef and season with Cajun seasoning. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 7–10 minutes. Drain any excess fat if needed.
  3. Caramelize the Onions: In another pan, add a bit of oil and sliced onions. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  4. Assemble the Bowl: In a bowl, layer lettuce first, followed by the cooked potatoes. Add the ground beef, caramelized onions, and finish with shredded cheese, pickles, mayo, ketchup, and mustard on top.
  5. Serve: Enjoy your savory smash burger bowl while it’s warm for the best flavor experience!

Notes

For a vegetarian version, swap ground beef with lentils or a meat alternative. Store in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
