Description

Delicious and convenient pecan pie bars with a chewy filling and a buttery crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, softened butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Mix until a dough forms and press into the bottom of a greased 8-inch square baking pan.
  3. Bake the crust for about 10-12 minutes or until slightly golden.
  4. In another bowl, mix brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Stir in the chopped pecans and pour over the baked crust.
  6. Bake again for 25-30 minutes, until filling is set and slightly bubbly.
  7. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.
  8. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh pecans. These bars store well in an airtight container and can also be frozen.
