Description

Juicy beef patties smashed on a hot skillet for a crispy edge, topped with cheese and your favorite condiments.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 4 Brioche buns
  • 4 leaves Lettuce
  • 1 Tomato, sliced
  • Pickles, to taste
  • Special sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard), to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your skillet or grill: Heat your skillet over medium-high heat or preheat your grill to high.
  2. Form the patties: Divide the ground beef into four equal balls (about 4 oz. each).
  3. Smash the patties: Place a ball of meat on the hot surface and immediately smash it flat with a spatula.
  4. Season: Season the smashed patty with salt and pepper. Cook for about 3–4 minutes until the edges are crispy.
  5. Add cheese: Immediately after flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
  6. Toast the buns: Toast the brioche buns on the side until golden and crispy.
  7. Assemble: On the bottom bun, layer lettuce, the cheesy patty, tomato, pickles, and your favorite sauce. Top with the other half of the bun, and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, cook on a hot surface and avoid pressing down while cooking to retain juices.
